Park Entry Guideline

Park Entry Guidelines

Brisbane Technology Park is host to an array of prestigious and multi-national companies seeking to capitalise on the cost effective facilities and support network provided by the park. A comprehensive listing of Brisbane Technology Park tenants is available in the Company Directory.

In order to achieve the objectives of the Park Queensland Government seeks to cluster together like-minded businesses that are prepared to share their experiences and feed off each other in a non-competitive environment.

In order to stimulate and support the development of such clusters on the park, Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation (DEEDI) has contracted Zernike Australia Pty Ltd to provide park management services to resident companies with a view to developing a number of value creators such as access to professional advice, networking opportunities, marketing assistance and access to skilled staff.

Brisbane Technology Park therefore seeks to accommodate companies who will embrace the objectives of the Park and in doing so accelerate and strengthen their own business.

The business of resident companies operations on BTP must contribute to the Queensland Government’s smart state policy through the development, enhancement and/or application of innovation and technology. Examples of such tenants could include:

  • Companies engaging in research, development and design of products, services and processes; and
  • Operators of high technology intensive businesses who place knowledge based innovations that encompass decision making, research, product and market development, advanced and prototype manufacturing, customer support and associated services as a significant part of their operations.
  • Provision of Specialist Services to increase the capability of companies in Technology Industries.
  • Supply of Technology-based Products

Priority entry will be given to companies who:

  • are leaders (actual or potential) in innovative technology and brand recognition;
  • are contributing members to the growth of high technology clusters in Queensland and are inclined to develop synergies with other companies on the Park;
  • have a long term commitment to building technology competence in Queensland through investing in people and intellectual property;
  • provide a significant number of high value added technology and knowledge related jobs locally;
  • are engaged in the areas of electronics, information and communications technology, biotechnology, advanced materials, value added technology driven services and content and other drivers of the new knowledge economy;
  • have existing or planned relationships with universities or research institutions that provide a basis for skills development or research activity in a mutually beneficial way; and
  • are willing to provide work experience opportunities to university students, participate in networking with others on and off the Park, undertake joint research or business projects, mentor other companies or other business activities on the Park.

Companies wishing to reside at BTP have a number of options in regards to the type of facilities available, which include:

  • tenancy of an existing building being either serviced or commercial office space within the BTP Technology & Conference Centre or any vacant existing premises within the park; or
  • occupation of a new building to be developed for:
  • commercial tenancy; or
  • owner occupation.

In considering these options, a prospective resident of the park can seek assistance and advice from the Park managers, Zernike Australia Pty Ltd.
